Onstage at the Ithaca Festival, The GOURMET JUGBAND

The Gourmet JugBand in Ithaca NY....don't remember when...but here's what I do remember: We got to the venue early, maybe an hour or so. We had come in from the gulf coast so we didn't want to miss anything. No one was around. We stationed ourselves at the Chanticleer, bar across the street, and kept a look out. Gene Tighe came in about 30 mins later. After that not a soul showed up until 5 mins before showtime. Franko had set up and Gene had run some wire and at exactly the moment before the gig was to start, Jugband musicians appeared out of the crowds, greeted each other as the pulled out their axes, Jonny Rosenblatt said "JUGBAND MUSIC" and they all sang out: "Well it was way down south in old New Orleans, Jugband Music got a hold on me..."

And, one of the members of this extended jugband family has recently written a song about Franko.

Kerry Regan, composed, arranged and performs:

The Man Who Always Gets the Girl
